Running Accomplishments:

I ran cross-country my freshman year in high school. It is now 8 or 9 years later and I'm trying to start again.

Short-Term Running Goals:

My short term goal is to complete this 5K race in Feb.

Long-Term Running Goals:

I'm not sure yet what my long-term is. I want to complete my short-term before I decide next.

Personal:

I am 23 years old. I have a horse and 3 dogs. I compete with my horse in eventing. I decided I needed to start running again to get myself back in shape for myself and for my competitions. My dog Russell loves to join me on my runs and my boyfriend Jeff encourages me but thinks I am crazy.

I did not want to get up this morning. I was able to sleep in the past 2 mornings. Somehow I talked myself into doing it though. If I didn't get up I would screw up my schedule and maybe even stop completely. After my internal battle I managed to do 2 miles without stopping in 23 mins and 13 secs. I've been looking at some of the other blogs and looking at how some of you or most of you are running over 10 miles a day. I hope to get there someday but we will see.

I decided to do 2 miles today instead of 30 minutes ez. I had a rough time today. I think what I ate earlier had something to do with it. I ran it in 23 mins and 26 secs. After a mile I was cramping up pretty bad and had to walk for about a min. I don't think I drank enough water either. I was a little disappointed but I am going to keep going. I was just glad I went out there today. It was rainy and cool. Tomorrow I take a day off and then I start again on Tuesday. I made it through week 1.
